Will Smith spent his birthday weekend grabbing up reading material with his daughter Willow. Pics inside of the daddy-daughter duo hitting up Barnes & Noble inside...
Looks like the two bookworms were having a good ol time chatting up fans in Barnes & Noble in L.A. Can't tell if it's hot or old out seeing that daddy Willy rocked a t-shirt and basketball shorts. And Willow had on a denim jacket with an oversized grey coat over that.
We love seeing daddy-daughter time though. Cute!

B dishes on dressing for her expanding baby bump after unveiling latest House of Deréon line.
By Jocelyn Vena
Beyoncé hit up London Fashion Week this past weekend to launch the latest House of Deréon line. The line was described as "global nomad," and according to B, anyone — even pregnant ladies like herself — can wear the clothes.
"What I'm wearing today is part of the collection and it's not supposed to be, but it actually is really good for ... maternity," the singer, dressed in a sparkly black pantsuit, told CNN.
B explained that she and her mom, Tina Knowles, started working on the line at least six months before her pregnancy, so they hadn't planned maternity clothes specifically. "But we do have some things that I am still trying to rock," she admitted.
"Actually, I am having so much fun, it has been the most fun time now that [my pregnancy] has been announced and I don't have to, you know, it was really difficult to conceal," she continued. "But now that I can be proud and excited about it, I'm having so much fun shopping. It's great."
Beyoncé has always been a trendsetter in the world of fashion, and that isn't going to change just because she's going to be a mom. "I just feel like it is often within," she said. "My mother has always told me that beauty comes from within and what's exciting about being a woman is you can say, 'Today ... I feel really conservative, today I'm feeling classy. Today, I am going on a date and I want to just be a showstopper.' And you know there is this variety of beautiful clothes that can bring out whatever you feel inside," she added. "But it comes from here and you should wear your clothes, they shouldn't wear you."
The singer also shared that she isn't sure whether to buy pink or blue clothes as she doesn't know the baby's gender yet. Her mom, however, is just happy about the news. "I am so delighted. I'm over the moon," she gushed.

Breaking away from her lady friends for a bite to eat with her husband, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries were side-by-side while out in Manhattan on Sunday (September 25).
The E! reality star lovingly gazed up at her NBA star mate as the twosome shared a few laughs en route to grab a late lunch at Hillstone Restaurant.
Prior to the quality time with Kris, Kim was on the town for the day's football action - as she joined a trio of lady friends to watch the New York Giants take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
Tweeting about the day's doings, the 30-year-old brunette beauty wrote, "Sunday funday at a sports bar w my churls @JoyceBonelli @CarlaDiBello @SheivaG"
She added a short while later, "Ok its girls against our men today! Why are we all rooting for opposite teams than our guys! #ChurlPower"

Critics herald the baseball flick as 'the prime Brad Pitt movie.'

Brad Pitt in "Moneyball"
Photo: Columbia TriStar
On paper, "Moneyball" is a movie that sells itself. It's based on a best-selling book about our national pastime, the screenplay for which was adapted by Oscar winners Aaron Sorkin and Steve Zaillian, and it stars Brad Pitt, in all his handsome, charming splendor, as Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane. Throw in a killer supporting cast that includes Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman and several real-life ball players, and you've got the makings of a hit.
With a 94 percent certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, "Moneyball" seems to be a solid winner with critics. So take an early seventh-inning stretch and settle in for some sports clichés as we sort through the "Moneyball" reviews!
The Story
"A sports-centric come-from-behind drama that harbors profound truths under its self-effacing grin of an exterior, 'Moneyball' is a movie of such loping, unforced ease and solid entertainment value that it's easy to take its gifts for granted. [Director Bennett] Miller barely puts a foot wrong in bringing to life the tale of Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane, who in 2002 — competing against teams with three times his payroll — sought to rebuild the slumping A's and revolutionize baseball recruiting using 'Sabermetrics,' a system by which players are chosen based on who gets on base most often. That approach sounds so simple as to be self-evident. But in 'Moneyball,' such logic runs afoul of Beane's old-school scouts, who are played in the movie by a colorfully grizzled collection of character actors and some real-life baseball veterans. Their banter, in which they refer to players' jaw lines and girlfriends while they decide whom to hire, lends 'Moneyball' a thoroughly enjoyable through-line of tough, vernacular wit. What's more, that plain-spoken charm couches a far deeper conceptual point: that objective truth not only exists but matters, even at a time when it's continually being trumped by superstition, 'feelings' and irrational belief." — Ann Hornaday, The Washington Post
The Brad Pitt Factor
"If Pitt's role in 'Moneyball' is more of a conventional star turn than his career-shifting performance as the stern 1950s father in 'The Tree of Life' (for which he emphatically deserves awards but won't win any), it's still terrific. He's on-screen in almost every scene, often filling it up in extreme close-up, and captures the bluff, buff and shrewd Beane, a washed-up jock who embraced an unorthodox statistical philosophy through sheer necessity, with great wit and physicality. (Let me throw in that 'Moneyball' is a delirious study of bad early-2000s guy fashions and haircuts, which may elude some of the audience but is definitely conscious.) Let me hasten to assure you that 'Moneyball' isn't all that much of a baseball movie, although fans of the national pastime will of course rush to see it. It's a prime Brad Pitt movie — arguably the prime Brad Pitt movie — and an American fable about a battered but lovable divorced dad who defies conventional wisdom and beats the odds." — Andrew O'Hehir, Salon.com
The Book-to-Film Comparison
"The big-screen adaptation of Michael Lewis' engaging 2003 book is also filled with compromises. Someone crammed 'Major League'-style sports clichés into a more nuanced story about baseball and progress — and then tried to fit a Brad Pitt star vehicle inside of that. The result is an interesting but frustrating near-miss. Chronology and context are mucked with liberally. This happens in almost every sports movie based on real events, although A's fans will be blown away that Tim Hudson, Barry Zito and Mark Mulder and their combined 57 wins in 2002 are scrubbed from existence here. Of the three, only Hudson gets a cameo, and he blows his start." — Peter Hartlaub, San Francisco Chronicle
The Final Word, Pro-Con Style
"Bennett Miller's' Moneyball' — adapted by Aaron Sorkin and Steven Zaillian from the nonfiction book by Michael Lewis — is a sports movie for people who don't like sports movies. I know this is true because I enjoyed it. ... Cinematographer Wally Pfister's deliberately unglamorous presentation of the A's dilapidated clubhouse is a long way from the gold-and-sepia tones of Barry Levinson's 'The Natural.' 'You can't help but be romantic about baseball,' Billy observes to Peter, even as he's being reviled by his own organization for his supposedly bloodless reliance on the stats. It's to the director's credit, and Pitt's, that 'Moneyball' is anything but bloodless — in its own quiet, unspectacular way, this movie courses with life." — Dana Stevens, Slate.com
"The downside of Pitt's triumph is that it unbalances the movie, throwing more of the focus on Billy than the team. To put 'Moneyball' over the fence, Miller and his writers needed to make something else hit home: the meaning of the on-base percentage. What does it say about a player who can't throw far, can't steal a base, rarely hits a ball over the fence, and yet can be as great an asset as a future Hall of Famer? Instead of answering that question — and dramatizing how wins can be built from unflashy players working in sync under a manager who understands 'small ball' — Miller shifts into montage mode (They won! They won again! They're on a streak!), as if Beane and Brand had written a computer program that was running to its inevitable conclusion. That, of course, leaves the team's manager, Art Howe (played by Philip Seymour Hoffman, maybe to pay Miller back for helping him win an Oscar in 'Capote'), a cipher, a nonpresence on and off the field. 'Moneyball' has everything but team spirit." — David Edelstein, New York

Ask any of my friends about my signature makeup look, and they'll tell you that I love a bold lip—either red or purple—it doesn't matter as long as it's noticeable. But lately, I've rediscovered my favorite lip color in high school—IMAN Citron. I used to slather on this gold lipstick when I wanted to feel older than my 16 years. And now at almost 31, it's strange how this lipstick color reminds me of my youth ... and the different beauty looks of my life.

Steven Soderbergh's 'Contagion' follows at #2, with Ryan Gosling vehicle 'Drive' at #3.
By Ryan J. Downey
What's old was new again as Disney's iconic "The Lion King" became the #1 movie at the box office over the weekend, taking in an estimated $29.3 million with a souped-up 3-D redo of the 1994 original.
"Drive," one of the year's best-reviewed films, was #3 in its weekend debut, while the poorly reviewed remake of "Straw Dogs" and Sarah Jessica Parker's even-worse-reviewed "I Don't Know How She Does It" both flopped in their debuts. Last week's #1 movie, "Contagion," dropped to #2 this week.
"The Lion King" 3-D re-release earned more than the other three new releases combined. The film's original-run, IMAX re-release (back in 2002) and the past weekend's numbers pushed "The Lion King" from #25 to #17 on the all-time domestic box-office chart, according to Box Office Mojo. The animated tale, which has also quite successfully been adapted for Broadway, has made $357.8 million in the United States to date.
Steven Soderbergh's ensemble procedural drama "Contagion" made $14.5 million in its second weekend of release, for a total of $44.2 million. "Drive" took in $11 million, but while the film has set Twitter abuzz in critic circles, it remains to be seen how it will continue to play with a broader audience. "This is one of Ryan Gosling's best performances," Aisle Seat reported.
"The Help" came in at #4 at the box office, adding $6.4 million for a total of $147.3 million. The remake of director Sam Peckinpah's 1971 thriller "Straw Dogs," featuring "True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgård, mustered just $5 million in its debut. "I Don't Know How She Does It" fared even worse with just $4.5 million, which was less than the opening numbers of Parker's last two flops.
Meanwhile, critical darling "Warrior" dropped 47 percent, all the way down to #8, in its second weekend of release with just $2.8 million for a $9.9 million total. "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star," which is the exact opposite of a critical darling (with a perfect "zero" score on film review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes), made a paltry $2.3 million in 10 days after a $380,000 second weekend.
Next weekend's new releases include Taylor Lautner's "Abduction," Brad Pitt's "Moneyball," action ensemble (Statham! Owen! DeNiro!) "Killer Elite" and filmmaker Kevin Smith's "Red State."

Actor will reportedly reteam with director Nicolas Winding Refn for several projects including a possible 'Logan's Run' remake.

Ryan Gosling's "Drive" didn't exactly zip away from the multiplex this weekend with a hefty box-office haul, grossing only $11 million. That's a respectable sum for a Cannes darling — less high-octane thriller than slow-burning, tension-filled drama — that was always going to have trouble finding a mainstream audience.
But we certainly haven't heard the last of "Drive," which remains likely to be a player come awards season, with Gosling potentially nabbing actor nods and helmer Nicolas Winding Refn looking to pick up other wins on the heels of his Cannes directing award. Gosling, for his part, will have some serious competition ... from himself: The actor's "Ides of March" is also sure to be in the mix come the fall. Whatever happens, Gosling is going to be busy from now through awards season and far, far beyond.
"Ides Of March"
Hitting theaters in October after a festival run this month, "Ides" features Gosling as an idealistic press secretary to a charismatic Ohio governor played by George Clooney, who also wrote and directed the project. The talent in front of and behind the camera made for a buzzy debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, but a crowded field that includes the likes of Steven Spielberg, Stephen Daldry, Woody Allen and Tate Taylor (with his sleeper hit "The Help") leaves an uncertain awards-season path for "Ides."
"The Place Beyond the Pines"
Perhaps we've just got "Drive" on the mind, but this project sounds strangely similar to Gosling's latest. He stars as a motorcycle stunt driver who contemplates committing a crime to benefit his loved ones. At least he looks far different: We recently spotted Gosling on set rocking bleached blond hair and a tattoo under one eye. Co-starring Rose Byrne, Bradley Cooper and Eva Mendes, there's no word yet on a release date or festival debut.
"The Gangster Squad"
Production on Ruben Fleischer's ("Zombieland") third feature kicked off earlier this month with an all-star cast in place, including Gosling, Emma Stone, Sean Penn and Josh Brolin. Set in post-World War II Los Angeles, the story focuses on the city's battles against the infiltration of the East Coast mob. Gosling plays a member of the LAPD — a suavely dressed one at that, as some early set photos made clear.
"Only God Forgives"
Gosling and Refn can't get enough of each other. Luke Evans was initially set to star in this flick about boxing and prostitution in Bangkok, but the actor had to drop out because of his commitment to the two "Hobbit" films. Gosling reportedly stepped in, with shooting expected to begin in November and an eye on a theatrical release in the second half of 2012, according to Variety.
"Logan's Run"
No, seriously: Gosling and Refn can't get enough of each other. They're planning on a remake of this 1976 sci-fi classic, with Gosling playing the starring role of a guy living in a dystopian world where no one is allowed to live past the age of 30. The project has long been in development, with directors like Bryan Singer coming and going. Fingers crossed that Gosling and Refn can succeed where others have fallen short.
Untitled Romantic Comedy
You know the drill by now: Gosling and Refn, together again. Possibly. We know precious little about this project, other than Refn wants to direct, Gosling could star and both men want "Drive" co-star Albert Brooks to pen the screenplay. Hey, we'll bite. "It's a romantic comedy set in New York, which seems like a great place to start," Refn told the Los Angeles Times.
"The Man From U.N.C.L.E."
This one is pure rumor at this point, but reports have suggested Warner Bros. is looking to pair director Steven Soderbergh with a young Hollywood star for this long-gestating adaptation of the '60s-era spy series. Gosling's name has come up alongside those of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Alexander Skarsgård. Reality? Wish list? Stay tuned.

Young the Giant perform at the 2011 VMAs
Young the Giant couldn't believe the huge crowd they drew when they played on one of the main stages at the Austin City Limits festival last weekend. In fact, as far as singer Sameer Gadhia could tell, it was the biggest audience they've ever played for, and he thinks they have the 2011 MTV VMAs to thank in part for their growing popularity.
Nearly a month after playing their breakthrough hit "My Body" on the big show amid a bunch of their hometown fans, Gadhia said the benefits are definitely starting to show. "I think us performing at the VMAs definitely helped a little bit," said Gadhia. "We've always done well in Austin and we have a great time performing here, playing here. It's almost like a second home to us, so we have a very supportive fanbase over here. I think that really does help."
As a gift to their new and old fans, YTG dropped a free remix EP last week on their Facebook page, with a number of remixes of "My Body" by bands (and friends) including Two Door Cinema Club, Tokyo Police Club and K. Flay, as well as a Ra Ra Riot take on "Cough Syrup" and takes on "Apartment" by Captain Cuts, "Islands" by Tapioca and the Flea and Cahb, and "I Got" by DADO. Two of the remixes are by fans who won a contest.
"The idea was to use the content we had and do something new with it," said drummer Francois Comtois of the inspiration for the unusual remix EP. "We're fortunate enough to have friends and friend bands and a bunch of people who wanted to contribute from the start. We had too much good stuff; we had to whittle it down to eight or nine tracks. You want to be able to give fans as much as possible."
Gadhia was really blown away by the jungle beat remix of "Islands" by Cahb, which he said bass player Payam Doostzadeh is obsessed with, as well as the trippy, dub-style electronic remix their pals in Ra Ra Riot did on hit "Cough Syrup."
"I couldn't be happier. It was cool to see people involved around the country," said Gadhia.

There are many ways to break into acting. You could, say, attend the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, or maybe even study "method acting" at New York City's Lee Strasberg Theatre. Or you could just get spend a couple of summers behaving like a lovable hooligan on a beach in Seaside Heights, NJ.
This is the route Jersey Shore stars Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino, 29, and Vinny Guadagnino, 23, have taken, as both have successfully parlayed their reality-show stardom into acting jobs this fall.
People reports that Sorrentino, who had a dismal run on last season's Dancing with the Stars, will appear on the Yobi.Tv Web series, New Stage, which premieres on Sept. 27. He plays a hip-hop star who's a Simon Cowell-style judge on a fictional TV talent show.
And according to Entertainment Weekly, Guadagnino scored a gig with an even higher profile: In November, he'll appear on the CW's 90210 as a young celebrity who gets into a high-stakes poker game with Liam (Matt Lanter).
We can't say we're surprised. There's no denying that Jersey Shore is as hot as ever, giving its stars lots of clout with casting directors. And both of these knuckleheads have been talking up their acting ambitions lately.
Last month, Sorrentino told In Touch Weekly that "my true ambitions lie in TV and film." When asked whose career he'd like to emulate, he replied, "Obviously, I look up to (Robert) De Niro and (Al) Pacino, and for someone who's closer in age Leo (DiCaprio) -- I'd eventually like to make great movies someday," he says. "But I'm trying to go in a trajectory similar to 'The Rock,' (Dwayne Johnson), who took his bold personality and phrases from the WWE into film."
Guadagnino, meanwhile, has put his law school plans on hold for the world of entertainment. "I love show business," he told zap2it. "I love acting and I feel like acting and being a lawyer go hand-in-hand because you can kind of perform in a way. So, but acting is no. 1. If I can do that forever -- I can't believe people even get paid for it."
Yeah, it is hard to believe.

Back on the road these days with his recently reunited band Bush, dad-of-two Gavin Rossdale knows first hand how hard it is to juggle career and kids. So how do he and his wife Gwen Stefani make time for their work, their boys Kingston, 5, and Zuma, 3, and each other? "We muddle our way through it," he tells US magazine in a new interview. Here are a few of the highlights:
On balancing work and family: "I just accept that those are the sacrifices you make and it's inevitable that anyone who has kids makes sacrifices? And my kids get the benefit of me working at home at the studio... Nothing's perfect and everything has its price. But I think that I will want to instill the value in them of applying yourself and the value of sacrifice, and what it takes."

"Don't Get It Twisted is definitely coming before the year is over," the 18-year-old rapper said on the 2011 VMA black carpet. "I'm getting ready to put out my next record, which features Justin [Bieber], the one that everybody's been waitin' on. 'Wherever You Are' featuring Justin Bieber coming soon."
Twist and Bieb's friendship is no secret. Twizzy has been teasing a full collaborative mixtape between the two, but as of now, nothing has materialized. "Me and Justin, we actually met through a mutual friend, and after that, we got real cool, actually," he told MTV News last November. "[We] started working in the studio, sending stuff through the MacBook and everything. And then he was like, 'Yo, bro, we should do a mixtape. Let's go.' We just started then."
While there is no telling when the mixtape will come, Twist is confident that their single will surface shortly. "It's gonna be great. It's a cool summer record," Twist told MTV News of his and Justin's upcoming collaboration. "It's a party song. Straight for the sun. It's a Miami record."
In 2010, Twist dropped the album's first single, "Little Secret," featuring Bow Wow and came back this year with the Lil Wayne-assisted "Love Affair." The R&B-laced song found Twist singing about being caught in the middle of a love triangle, while Wayne crudely rapped around the same subject. For his current single, "New Money," the YMCMB young'un hooked up with R&B singer Mishon.
A promotional insert included with Tha Carter IV CD has Don't Get It Twisted slated for a November 8 release; whether that date sticks remains to be seen.

BEGINNER S LUCK BEYOND THE BEND BEYOND THE REEF BIG BOOTS BIG BOSS MAN
Mid-September seems like an odd time to post a blog about an auction of Elvis items that took place back in July, but there have been reasons for the delay. After the Heritage Music Memorabilia Auction ended on July 29, a number of things came up that inspired timely articles on ElvisBlog: The Elvis Super Hero book, the identity of the girl in the famous Al Wertheimer photo ?The Kiss,? the death of the prolific writer of Elvis song lyrics Jerry Leiber, and more.
Nothing big related to Elvis was in the news this week, so let?s look at some interesting Elvis things that changed hands at the auction.
Celebrity?Signed Western Shirt:
This shirt brought in $7,170, and that high price might be because dozens of celebrities signed it, in addition to Elvis. Some of the names you can?t see or are not legible include Steve Allen, Andy Griffith, Tex Ritter, Raymond Burr, James Mason, Red Foley, Fess Parker, Phil Silvers, Cesar Romero, Roy Rogers, and Jack Webb.
Here are some autographs you can read. If you start at the top button above, Colonel Parker is just to the left. Scotty (Moore) is farther down and to the left. Red Skelton is clearly visible to the right of the face. Susan Hayward is signed vertically just to the right of the buttons. A little lower, Phyllis Diller and Betty White are easy to see.
In this blow-up, Elvis is circled, and Larry Geller is just to the left. The box below tells some of the history of this shirt, but does not explained how all the autographs were collected.
The shirt came with a Letter of Authenticity from Joe Esposito. It has been sold at auction at least once before, starting with Bonham?s Auctions back in 1997.
1972 Martin D-28 Acoustic Guitar: There were two Martin acoustic guitars in this auction, but the 1953 Martin 00-21 failed to attract any bidding above the $37,500 minimum. The 1972 Martin D-28 model pictured above did surpass its minimum bid and went for $19,120. Elvis played Martin guitars early in his career and switched back to them again in the 70?s. This 1972 D-28 came with two letters of authenticity and two large color photos of Elvis using it in concert. Personal Address/Phone Book: If this looks familiar, it should, because it was included in an ElvisBlog article last September about the Ultimate Elvis Auction held in Memphis during Elvis Week. It sold for $10,217 then, and it brought in $13,145 this time. At first glance, it would appear that somebody made a quick $3,000 on this item. However, the latest sell price includes the auctioneer?s 19% fee. After that is deducted from the proceeds, the seller made only $100. I think I would have just held on to it. Concho Belt: Elvis? jumpsuit belts aren?t the only ones highly prized by collectors. He bought this silver concho belt in 1967 while filming Stay Away Joe in Sedona, Arizona. The belt has eleven silver conchos with turquoise settings, and the buckle is solid silver with fourteen more turquoise stones. Elvis later gave the belt to his musical director Joe Guercio, who replaced the buckle with one of his own (the one on the belt in the photo). There was no mention of what happened to the original buckle shown in the photo of Elvis wearing the belt. It will probably show up in an auction someday. In spite of not having the original buckle, the belt brought in $5,078. Set of Sun 78 Records: You true Elvis fans know that Sun Records released five Elvis records, and most of them were in the 45RPM format favored by the kids. But, they were also released in the older and much more brittle 10 inch 78RPM format. This set is in pretty good, but not mint, condition, and they went for $2,629. Graceland Purchase Agreement: This was the top item in the bidding, even though it fell short of the auction estimate. The three-page real estate sales contract for Graceland, dated March 26, 1957 went for $21,510. It?s interesting that Elvis paid $102,000 for Graceland, and 63 years later, just the signed contract sells for over $21,000. Sunglasses with "TCB" Logo: According to the auction website, Elvis had over 400 pairs of custom-designed sunglasses specially made for him. He gave away so many pairs of these glasses that there has been a steady parade of them showing up in Elvis auctions. However, this model is a design called Nautic, and it is much rarer than the familiar model with the decreasing holes in the temples and the TCB on the bridge. Also, these lenses are half-tinted in Elvis' favorite Dove Blue shade. No wonder this pair inspired active bidding and a top bid of $11,950. 2011 Philip R Arnold, Original Elvis Blogmeister All Rights Reserved www.ElvisBlog.net
Also included is an 11" x 17" engineer's survey draft of the estate and surrounding acreage and a two-page letter from Shelby County regarding property taxes. The reason these items brought in such a high bid is probably due to the fact that the contract had the signatures of Elvis, his father Vernon, and his mother Gladys. According to the auction website, items signed by all three family members are extremely rare, due to Mrs. Presley's untimely death on August 14, 1958. You will note that Elvis originally omitted his middle name, but did add it later. Elvis signed very few signatures as Elvis Aron Presley, so that added to the collectible value as well.
