Tina Fey: 'Bossypants' Book Takes on Internet Bullies

Tina Fey has finally figured out the solution to Internet bullying: get a book deal. The 30 Rock creator dedicates an entire chapter of her hilarious new memoir, Bossypants (available April 5), to those awful people who lurk around the Web, posting cruel comments about everything and everyone. Specifically, the 40-year-old writer-actor turns her fierce wit loose on the anonymous commenter who once called her an "ugly, pear-shaped, bitchy, overrated troll."

"To say I'm an overrated troll, when you have never even seen me guard a bridge, is patently unfair," Fey writes in the chapter entitled "Dear Internet."

She goes on to verbally pound the guy (and you know it's a guy) into the ground, saying that his -- ahem -- genitals must be so tiny, it would take the Hubble telescope to find them. Fey also points out that "there is no such thing as bad press" -- and proves it by using the guy's insulting quote, to hilarious effect, as a blurb on the back of the book.

This unique brand of humor, both merciless and self-deprecating, is one of the many reasons we've been eagerly awaiting Fey's memoir. We love that she's the smartest woman (perhaps even the smarter person, period) in comedy, yet freely admits that she has can't always figure out how to juggle work and motherhood.

In the book, she discusses the trappings of celebrity in ways that make sense to the rest of us; when describing the experience of a photo shoot, for example, Fey explains that, "The makeup artist at your photo shoot will work methodically on your eyelids with a series of tickly little brushes for a hundred minutes." A woman in a mostly male profession, Fey also embraces her feminist side, making the funny-yet-true observation that Amy Poehler's Sarah Palin rap (which she performed on SNL when she was nine months pregnant) was a watershed moment for women on TV.

Fey must know that she's the fantasy best friend of millions of women. Plenty of us would give our right arm to hang out with her 30 Rock alter-ego Liz Lemon -- and now, thanks to Bossypants, we can get to know the real lady behind the quips.
